Xenia Staroshyelska. A Translator and Her Writers” / a literary meeting

She has translated over thirty Polish writers into Russian, including Gombrowicz, Konwicki, Sienkiewicz, Witkacy, Dąbrowska, Andrzejewski, Hłasko, Krall, and Masłowska. For her achievements in the field of translation and popularization of Polish literature in Russia, she has received the Cavalry Cross Order of Merit of the Polish Republic and the “Devoted to Polish Culture” Honorary Badge. Her roots trace back to Łódź: he grandmother once had a dentist’s office on ul. Piotrkowska. Writers translated by Staroshyelska will be taking part in the meeting.
