Based on the motifs of “Rose” – whose action partly takes place in blue-collar Łódź, directly after the fall of the 1905 revolution – Raczak has put together a bitter play about settling old accounts. Much like Żeromski, Raczak does not believe that revolution effectively and justly repairs the world. He is more inclined to see its victims – the piles of corpses and the ranks of its swindled warriors, behind whose backs a new regime is coming to power.
