Kamila Klimczak, graduate of the Łódź Film School, actress at Krakow’s Bagatela and Piwnica pod Baranami, has prepared a concert of Jewish songs in Polish and Yiddish specially for the festival (some to words by Jacek Cygan). The main theme is Golden Jerusalem, the Promised Land – the image of the Wandering Jew that weaves its way through Jewish songs. For the project’s creators, the journey inscribed in these songs is an allegory of human fate in general, and touches all of us, not just the Jews.
